Synthesisers, human voice, electric violin and the Theremin.

A story of sonic textures, drifting harmonies and a spatial evolution of sounds. Best listened to with headphones and a quiet place to immerse your self in the imagined places the music takes you. The synthesiser keys in Just Intonation of prime number ratios, set the chordal harmonic foundation. Together with the rhythmic intensity of the percussion section, sets the scene for the freely intonated performances of the human voice sung through the Soma Pipe, the electric fretless violin and the ultimate stepless instrument, the theremin.

The musician sends out a message to the Soma Cosmos, the musician waits for the answer, the echo comes back, providing inspiration for the next passage. The musician manipulates the echo chamber, rearranging the shape of the performance hall, so the instrument is extended beyond the physical reach of the musician.

The tracks were recorded largely in one take on one eventing in Ableton Live (digital audio workstation, DAW). A few adjustments were made to the synthesiser parts during the transitions between movements, plus final mixing levels, was all that was needed for the final master.
